MADE FOR AFRICA
Speak naturally.
Country and language are separate. Tara starts from a preference, then adapts as the customer speaks.
Languages people actually use.
The language list is stored in TaraAI, so more can be added without rewriting the product. Country is never used as a stand-in for language.
- English Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania, Uganda
- Luganda Uganda
- Runyankole Uganda
- Rukiga Uganda
- Acholi Uganda
- Lusoga Uganda
- Lugbara Uganda
- Ateso Uganda
And 2 more on the languages page.
COUNTRY IS NOT LANGUAGE
Uganda is many languages. So is every market we enter next.
The product never assumes language from a country code. A contact in Uganda may prefer Luganda, Runyankole, Acholi, or English. During the call, Tara can still detect that they answered in another supported language.

The list is database-driven. Adding a language does not require rewriting the application.
Code-switching is normal.
People do not pause to pick a language. “Nja kusasula ku Friday naye kati sirina sente” is Luganda with an English day-name. Tara scores a primary language, a secondary language, and a confidence — then understands the meaning of the whole sentence.

FAQ
Language questions
- Must we set a language for every contact?
- It helps Tara start in the right voice. If it is missing, Tara still detects language from what the customer says.
- Can we add a language later?
- Yes. Languages, country mappings, and voices live in configuration and the database — not in hard-coded application lists.
- Will every African language ship on day one?
- No. Coverage deepens in phases. The architecture is built so new languages can be added without a redesign.
